Don’t be fooled by the luxury. Capri is more than just a playground for the rich and famous — although you will most likely spot a visiting celebrity or two. From port to peak, the island is equal parts energizing and calming. Sail past the Faraglioni, dine in a lemon grove, or wander into boutiques on Via Camerelle. Explore the sights, eats, and culture of one of Italy’s most treasured getaways.
Friday
2:00 p.m. | Off at Sea
From Naples, the island of Capri is an easy 45-minute ferry journey. Even some of the most discerning travelers will opt for the ferry service, due to its convenience and ease. If you prefer, private boat transfers are available. In almost all cases, you will arrive in Marina Grande, the island’s largest port located just to the north of the main town. To travel onwards to your hotel, hail one of Capri’s iconic taxis – converted 4-door sedans with noticeably absent roofs and ever-present viewpoints onto the island’s landscape during your journey.
-
7:00 p.m. | Aperitivo
Once settled, head to Capri town’s central Piazetta for apertivo hour – one of the country’s most treasured pastimes. Here, you can enjoy your selection of drinks (we like the Campari Spritz) while partaking in some of the best people watching on the island. Any café in the Piazetta offers the same experience – try to sit in the first two rows of chairs for an optimal view. It is not uncommon to see the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio or Beyoncé walking around the square, on trips ashore from their neighboring vessels.
Tip: Try il Piccolo, Bar Tiberio, or Café Caso.

8:00 p.m. | Dining in the Piazza
For dinner, head up the iconic Capri clocktower (located right off of the main Piazetta) for a memorable dinner at Pulalli Wine Bar. Atop the clock tower is a small patio offering a higher vantage point of the bustling scene below. If you book far enough in advance, ask for the balcony, a private two-person table which overlooks the ocean, perfect for an intimate dinner. Order the Caprese salad with fresh mozzarella to start. Then, be sure to get the traditional Caprese ravioli, stuffed with ricotta cheese and finished with a fresh homemade tomato sauce. These two dishes are simple but executed beautifully. Next, are always rotating seasonal fish dishes with local flavours and ingredients, ranging from classic dishes to more inventive options. Opt for a local wine – we suggest Greco di Tufo, an indigenous grape to Campania with Greek origins and a distinctive mineral finish.

11:00 p.m. | Dance the night away
Capri does not have a big nightlife scene, but it does have the iconic Taverna Anema e Core. Located just off the town center, the entrance is unassuming. Visiting celebrities make an obligatory stop at this basement hideaway. Expect live music, classic drinks, and the occasional impromptu concert from a vacationing A-list vocalist. The club is a melting pot of visitors and an authentic representation of the island’s unique charm. Wear your dancing shoes.
Saturday
9:30 a.m. | Capri by boat
Head to Marina Grande to meet your private boat guide. You will get unique views of the island from the sea. Your guide will point out Capri’s most famous architecture, natural formations, and swimming spots as you circle the island. Bring your camera. Try Vincenzo Capri Boats, Let It Be, or Capri Boat Service for a luxury private boat experience.

1:00 p.m. | Under the Capri Sun
La Fontelina is more than a beach club. It is in many ways part of Capri’s modern identity — quintessentially blue, set atop a natural rock formation, and full of all of the ritz and glamour for which the island is synonymous. To arrive, guests take their pick between a boat tender and a switchback foot path beginning at the famed Tragara viewing point. Once there, guests split their time between lounging and indulging on a selection of fresh seafood caught daily. To access the beach, you need to make a lunch reservation at the restaurant. There are two seatings per day – at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The menu is large with many pastas and mains to choose from, but the Tubettini pasta stands out. The dish is an ode to La Fontelina’s surroundings. After lunch, head back to your beach chair to soak up the afternoon rays.
During the summer months, reservations are required for 3 consecutive days. Inquire about last minute availability 48-hours in advance. Your hotel concierge may also be able to help secure a reservation. Reservation information can be found here.

7:00 p.m. | Cocktails with a view
Head to Capri Rooftop for stunning views of the Faraglioni. A 5-minute walk from the Piazetta, here you can see the mesmerizing sea and rock formations neighboring La Fontelina. This rooftop cocktail bar offers some of the best sunset views on the island. A selection of local and international wines are available alongside classic cocktails.
-
8:00 p.m. | Star-studded dinner
Just steps away from the Piazetta lies the famous Aurora Capri restaurant, one of the most acclaimed restaurants on the island. Their pizza all’acqua, a special 100-year-old pizza recipe, is a favorite among guests. Also be sure to order the truffle pasta. After dinner, walk to Gelateria Buonocore for the best gelato on the island. There is always a line but it is well worth the wait. Try the homemade waffle cone – made fresh to order.
Sunday
9:30 a.m. | Chairlift in the Summer
Grab a taxi and head up to Piazza Vittoria in Anacapri for the Monte Solaro chairlift. This single-person chairlift offers breathtaking views of the island from above. Once at the summit, enjoy a panoramic view of the Bay of Naples across to the distant mountains of Calabria. The journey takes 12 minutes from bottom to top and costs €14 return. If you prefer, you can hike back down the mountain. Once back in Anacapri, visit the local shops for linen clothing, lemon-themed ceramics, and locally-made sandals.
Make your way back to Marina Grande to catch your ferry home.
